- The repair vessel continues standing by off Wainwright. Ice conditions are dynamic due to gale force west winds that are forecasted to continue through today with a potential access window later this week as conditions improve. There is confidence that the vessel will be able to continue transit to the area of operation once they clear Pt. Barrow.
- We recently attempted development of an alternative route to circumvent a Point Barrow passage. The forecasters review and analysis of the satellite imagery data for the NWS <1 tenth western route through the ice (see below screenshot) has determined the risk too high due to limited data and fast-moving ice. The vessel will not be pursuing this route today.
