Matt Peterson, Chief Technology Officer, is a 20+ year veteran in telecommunications and Alaska operations. Matt’s career includes a leadership role with one of Alaska’s largest telecommunications companies, and critical network planning and systems engineering in the defense and space industry. In these roles Matt has a broad range of telecommunications experience including the successful design, construction, acquisition, capacity upgrade, and operations of multiple subsea fiber optic cable projects, as well as long-haul and metro fiber systems, mobile telephone and voice switching networks, satellite communications, internet service provider, and data transport networks. Under Peterson’s management, Quintillion operates the most resilient network of its kind.
Matt earned his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Alaska Fairbanks and Master of Engineering in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Utah State University. Matt is an avid skier, motorcyclist, mountain biker, and enjoys traveling and spending time with family.
